Seek Treatment From Substance Use Disorders

Cross Over Ministries is your Access Point for the Safe Passages program

  • What is Safe Passages? Safe Passages is a “no wrong door” approach where an individual can walk into any access point for linkage to substance use disorder treatment. A field support specialist can link you with inpatient or outpatient services.
  • How does Safe Passages work? An individual would walk in to the access point and request assistance in finding treatment for their substance use disorder from an officer or staff member.
  • When can you access Safe Passages access points? You can utilize safe passage access points at any location as long as they are open to the public. Find Cross Over Ministries’ Open Hours on Haven HOME’s informational page.

Mental Health By The Numbers

humans group silhouetted on yellow pink blue sunrise hill

About one in five adults has a diagnosable mental disorder. Mental illnesses are more common than cancer, diabetes or heart disease. Also, data shows that if you have a mental illness, your chance of having a substance use disorder is as high as 50%. Mental illness can affect persons of any age, race, religion, gender identity or socioeconomic status. People affected by mental illness include our church members, our friends and families, and ourselves, as well as all the people who support those experiencing mental illness. With proper care and treatment, between 70 and 90 percent of persons with mental illnesses experience a significant reduction of symptoms and an improved quality of life.

Approximately 1 in 25 adults in the U.S. (11.2 million) experiences a serious mental illness in a given year that substantially interferes with or limits one or more major life activities.

4%

More than 90% of people who die by suicide show symptoms of a mental health condition.

90%

18.1% of adults in the U.S. experience an anxiety disorder such as posttraumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and specific phobias.

18%

Half of all chronic mental illness begins by age 14; three-quarters by age 24. Despite effective treatment, there are long delays—sometimes decades—between the first appearance of symptoms and when people get help.

50%

Only 41% of adults in the U.S. with a mental health condition receive mental health services each year.
